1. Acropolis of Athens

Acropolis of Athens is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a New 7 Wonders finalist. It is famous for having some of the world’s most renowned ancient architectural landmarks. It was a fortress and military base during the Neolithic period and a religious centre during the Mycenaean times.  It is crowned by the Parthenon and home to the Erechtheion, the Temple of Athena Nike and the Propylaea.  A memorable journey to the past.

2.  Santorini

Santorini, officially known as Thera, is one of the encircling islands in the Southern Aegean Sea.  The island is famous for its white-washed cubiform houses on steep slopes towards the sea in the two towns of Fira and Oia.  Oia, teetered high above the port of Ammoudi, is a favourite site for enjoying a splendid and romantic sunset.  Santorini is also famous for its winemaking tradition, with various vineyards and fine wine for exquisite wine tasting and culinary excursions.  A top choice for couples and honeymooners.

3.  Meteora

Meteora is a unique UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of Greece’s most amazing places, featuring impressive and towering rock formations.  These gigantic rocks were formed millions of years ago and shaped over time by wind, rain, and natural forces.  On top of these mighty sandstone rock pillars rising from the plains of Thessaly are some remarkable Greek Orthodox monasteries.  These Meteora monasteries are also considered the miracle of Greece.

4.  Delphi

Delphi consists of a modern town and a nearby archaeological site.  The site is an ancient sacred precinct and the seat of Pythia, a UNESCO World Heritage site, as it dramatically influences the old world with many monuments onsite.  One of the main attractions is the Temple of Apollo from the fourth century BC.  Many votive statues and various treasuries are on the slope of the Sacred Way to the Temple of Apollo. They were built to commemorate victories and house the offerings to Apollo.  Many other sites in the precinct are worth visiting, including the Delphi Archaeological Museum.

5.  Crete

Crete is the largest island and one of Greece's most popular holiday destinations.  It is a good choice for families travelling with kids due to great family-oriented hotels and diverse outdoor resources.  Crete has many ancient ruins of the Minoan civilisation and stunning Venetian castles.  There are spectacular ancient sites all over the island, such as Aptera and Malia.  The island is mountainous and characterised by valleys, gorges, rivers, caves, lakes, and beaches, and it is best for hiking and adventurous outdoor activities. 6.  Olympia

Olympia is the birthplace of the most notorious and essential sporting event - the Olympic Games.  It has extensive ruins of the athletic training areas, a stadium and temples of worship dedicated to the Greek god Zeus and Hera.  Many masterpieces of incredible sculptures from the temple of Zeus, the famous Hermes of Praxiteles and the statue of Nike of Paionios have survived the test of time and offer a view of the past and remarkable works of art.  There are popular visitor sites like the Olympic Museum and Historical Museum of The Olympic Games to keep the spirit and history of The Olympic Games alive.
