1. The Canadian Rockies
The Canadian Rockies is a UNESCO World Heritage that stretches 180,000 sq km with magnificent views at every corner of the site. The Icefields Parkway is a spectacular road tour between Banff and Jasper National Parks. Visitors can explore many pristine lakes, glaciers and valleys along the way and capture wildlife sightings, including Lake Louise, Peyto Lake, and Maligne Lake, to mention a few. Peyto Lake is the most vibrant lake in the Rockies, especially in the Summer, as the glittering glacial rock flow in from the Peyto Glacier. 2. Banff National Park
Banff National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that spans 6,641 sq km. It is famed for its impressive mountainous terrain with spectacular valleys and peaks, pristine lakes and the vast wilderness of the Canadian Rockies. As the first national park in Canada and third in the world, it has a rich heritage and is a breathtaking mountain destination. It has more than 1,600 km of hiking trails, world-class ski resorts, and thousands of campsites and glaciers for adventure seekers and outdoor enthusiasts. Banff townsite and Lake Louise village are in the national park that caters to visitors to explore authentic Canadian eateries, vibrant arts, and culture.
3. Jasper National Park
Jasper National Park is another UNESCO World Heritage Site to the North of Banff National Park and is the largest park in the Rocky Mountains and the second largest Dark Sky Preserve in the world. It is an excellent place for a stargazing excursion, and the Northern Lights, aurora borealis, can be seen from September to mid-May. Towering mountains surround the park with numerous thundering waterfalls; one is Athabasca Falls. It is a Class 5 waterfall with a total drop height of 24 metres and a massive amount of water gushing into the gorge. There are walking trails around the falls for people to capture the view and sound of the majestic falls. It is also a popular park for wildlife sightings.
4. Vancouver
Vancouver is a cosmopolitan city in Western Canada and is right next to various outdoor adventures, from marine to mountain thrill-seeking explorations, gardens and parks. There are many visitor sites from the city to the great outdoors. Gastown is the original settlement of Vancouver known for its Whistling Steam Clock and Victorian-style buildings with a mix of souvenir shops, indie art galleries and trendy places for food and drink. Mostly surrounded by water, Stanley Park is a magnificent urban green oasis with majestic trees, beautiful beaches, walking trails and historical landmarks along the famous Seawall. Across the Strait of Georgia is The Butchart Gardens, a National Historic Site of Canada located on Vancouver Island. It has several gardens, including a serene Japanese Garden, with millions of bedding plants. The best time to visit these gardens is in the autumn.
5. Kamloops
Kamloops is a gorgeous city for every season, and you can explore this city along the route on board the Rocky Mountaineer train, which connects from Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise, and Whistler to Vancouver. It is a daylight train to enjoy spectacular scenic views along the way with immaculate service. Kamloops is one of Canada’s sunniest destinations, where visitors can enjoy perfect rounds of golf, rugged bike rides, and other activities. It has unique landscapes with a mixture of deserts, valleys, grasslands, pine forests, sandstone canyons, lakes, and mountains, including sagebrush and hoodoos.
6. Old Quebec City
Old Quebec City is in Eastern Canada. It is the only fortified city north of Mexico, dating to the 17th century and is referred to as the historic district of Quebec City.
