Overview

Slovakia has one of the best results in Europe regarding Covid infections with just over 1500 infections and 28 deaths. The country shut its borders on 13 March and reopened to neighbouring countries on 05 June. Since 16 June, EU citizens can travel freely.

National movement

There is no restriction on movement within the country. Face masks are obligatory on public transport and inside public spaces.

Cross-borders

1/ Free travel for ‘green’ countries to travel to Slovakia freely. The list is updated regularly: Link.

2/ All other eligible persons returning to Slovakia are obliged to quarantine. State quarantine changed to (home) e-quarantine (the app needs to be downloaded to monitor your location 24/7).
