Country Manager (Czech Republic & Slovakia), Zuzana Bárová explains the core importance of teamwork in her role and shares her love for the Czech Republic.

MY DAY-TO-DAY

Staying One Step Ahead

I hold the role of Country Manager, Czech Republic & Slovakia, and am responsible for all activities within the destination – overviewing procurement, operations & reservations, customer service, marketing activities, business opportunities and more.

On a daily basis, this means being flexible, adaptable, innovative, supportive and an out-of-the-box thinker, leading the team towards success.

Above all, it’s this that makes the role exciting – we never know exactly what each day will bring so we try to be a step ahead and on top of everything to achieve our core mission: to deliver truly inspiring and innovative solutions and experiences that create real value.

WHY TRAVEL?

Travel Is the Only Thing You Buy That Makes You Richer

Working in tourism isn´t just a job for me. Having spent nearly 30 years in this industry, it´s a lifelong passion; part of my life that I do not want to give up.

As a famous quote states: “Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer”.

The biggest source of satisfaction for me is to see happy customers excited to bring new experiences and memories back home.

WHY KUONI TUMLARE?

A Guarantee of Quality

Kuoni Tumlare is a company with a rich and long history, a valuable partner and guarantee of quality. As a company, we always put customers wishes first without ever compromising on quality.

To do this, we’re constantly required to adjust to market trends, be innovative and very creative.

Travellers and their requirements have changed tremendously in the last 20 years and I expect bigger changes after Covid.

Another important element is the team. I am surrounded by experienced, knowledgeable, professional, inspiring, and kind colleagues.

CORE VALUE

Grit: We Only Succeed If We Turn a Challenge into an Opportunity

The Covid-19 pandemic has taught us all that grit lies at the centre of what we do. There were numerous obstacles and challenges for our industry to overcome but we have managed to emerge from the other side as a more complete product & solution provider and an even closer team.

PROUDEST MOMENT

After 17 Years, There Are Too Many to Choose From

I have recently celebrated my 17th year with the company and so there are many interesting projects and memorable moments that spring to mind. It is very difficult to choose one.

We have organised trips for VIP governmental groups, MICE groups, a charter flight into Europe, some really big projects for 1000+ people… the list goes on.

Each project requires a lot of preparation, precise work, and the ability to understand customer needs and requirements. Behind each project there is a team of people cooperating, sharing, and contributing and this teamwork is what results in our ultimate success. These moments are what really make me proud.

FAVOURITE DESTINATION

My Home Country Has It All

I must admit my favourite destination is my home country. I have travelled a bit and visited many places and although many have touched my heart, the most beautiful place for me is the Czech Republic.

My husband and I have an agreement to visit at least five new places we have never been to and try to achieve this every year. Czechia really has so much to offer. In addition to the sea, you can find everything – lakes, mountains, forest, medieval and modern architecture, picturesque villages, and breathtaking landscapes.

I’m particularly drawn to castles, chateaus and churches, and have visited over 100 for sure in the last 5 years. There is one place I go back to every year – the Lipno lake area in South Bohemia: at 47 km2m, it’s the largest body of water in the country. It has all I need to relax (especially water sports activities), have fun, meet friends, and spend time with my beloved.
