Overview

Hungary has been slowly releasing strict measures since 16 June. Face masks are compulsory in enclosed areas (shopping and public transport).

National movement

There is no restriction on movement within the country.

Cross-borders

Currently there are 3 categories regarding the countries that are allowed to be visited / Hungary can be visited from.
Red category: Areas that are not recommended for travel.
Yellow category: Increased security risk countries and areas.
Green category: countries that are safe to visit.

Running as usual. Face masks are compulsory.

Taxi

Working as usual. Face masks are compulsory.

Guides / Assistants

Available on standby.

Coaches

There is no restriction regarding the pax number on the coach, just advice on social distancing.

Rail / Cable Cars

Operating as usual. Face masks are compulsory.

International railways are operating, but with less departures. Face masks are compulsory.

Shops

Open as usual. Face masks are compulsory.

Restaurants

Open as usual. Social distancing of 1.5m between tables is required.

Hotels

Hotels are gradually reopening. Social distancing required. Regular sanitation in place.

Attractions

Museums, Spas, Zoos and other attractions are open. The open air ones request 1.5 minimum social distancing.

Indoor venues in most cases require face masks and 1.5 meter social distancing.
